Positioned in the suburb of Argenton next to the scenic Cockle Creek on the north-western shores of Lake Macquarie, 30 minutes drive from the centre of Newcastle City and less than 90 minutes drive north from Sydney is Waratah Golf Club. This makes our Club easily accessible from all surrounding areas.

The course is open to members and visitors 7 days a week, every day of the year except Christmas Day. We have a top quality 18 hole course which we are improving all the time. While the course is relatively flat, which makes for an easy and enjoyable walk, the design of the course still provides a great challange to all level of golfers. Couple this with a friendly atmosphere both on and off the course Waratah Golf Club makes for a great place to make new friends and renew aquaintances with old ones.

Our Club has a reputation for being a great nursery for producing top line golfers such as Nathan Green, Leigh McKechnie, Col and Ken Johnston, Adele Bannerman, Beryl Tobin and the 2007 Newcastle Hunter District ladies Golf Association District Champion Ashleigh Odgers plus many more. Our Club Professional, Scott Davis, offers many years of experience as a teaching Professional. Scott's experience also includes the day-to-day running of golf club Pro Shops. Therefore, our Club, through Scott can offer everything a beginner to a touring professional would want in pro shop services.

Our Office hours are 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday and selected Saturdays from 8am to 12pm throughout the year.
