The Course at Waratah Golf Club

12th Green

The design of the course at Waratah Golf Club has been a continuing evolution which started at our present site in 1921. The evolution of the course is set to continue with a new Master Course design having been commissioned by the Board in 2007. Several course designers were contacted and after much deliberation the course re-design was awarded to "Golf by Design", a Sydney based company owned and operated by Gary Wilcher. Gary has worked on many projects around Australia and the world. One notable project just recently completed is the Pacific Dunes course at Medowie. If you would like to see what Gary has done you can read his Project Resume and/or his CV by following the links. Both are in Adobe PDF format.

Course Master Plan.

The Board of Directors believe that our new Master Course Plan will help take the Club to the next level of golfing experiences. The design by Golf by Design refocuses the course in a new and exciting way. Some holes will be changed dramatically, the 11th and 15th for example, while others will be modernized and re sculptured to better fit the lay of the land. Along with the new hole layouts there will be several new dams and water courses which will only further enhance the feel of the course.

The Par rating for the course will go from 71 to 72 for the Men while the Par rating for the Women will remain at 72.

The small image of the Master Course Plan below provides a link to a larger image of the Master Course Plan. The larger image is 1600pix x 1600pix and just under 1mb in size to download and open. If you use the Firefox 2.0 browser the large image will open in a separate tab window or if you use Windows Internet Explorer 6.0 or above it will open in a separate window altogether. To view parts of the new layout not immediately visible you can use the wheel on your mouse or the scroll bars of your browser to bring it into view.
